Founded in 1889, Family Service Agency of San Francisco is now the largest nonsectarian provider of outpatient social services in the City and County of San Francisco. Throughout the decades since its founding, FSA has been a leader in the development of innovative human service programs to address San Francisco's most pressing social concerns.
Today, our mission is to develop and implement a comprehensive array of the most effective, evidence-based treatment services to meet the needs of a wide and varied population, thus improving the quality of life for all San Franciscans. At the heart of our work is the belief that individuals and families must have access to effective, efficient, and coordinated services and resources to help them build on their inherent strengths. FSA serves a broad cross-section of San Francisco's individuals, families, young children, elderly residents and vulnerable populations.
With dozens of programs in 11 languages at sites throughout San Francisco, our programs reach across all racial, ethnic, cultural, linguistic, and economic lines. Our services are provided on a sliding scale to ensure that all are served, regardless of their ability to pay.
